Meet the Founder

Sylum Records was founded by Soham Kothari—artist, producer, entrepreneur, and rebel with a cause. He’s not here to blend in. He’s here to break the system that’s been failing artists for decades.

Soham’s journey into music wasn’t polished or handed to him—it was built from scratch, shaped by loss, displacement, and the relentless urge to create something real. After losing his father at 13 and relocating across continents, music became more than an outlet—it became a lifeline. It was in those moments of isolation and identity crisis that he started crafting a sound of his own, learning every inch of the process: production, songwriting, mixing, storytelling. No shortcuts. Just obsession.

In 2020, when the world shut down, Soham built something that didn’t. While most people were just trying to get by, he laid the groundwork for Sylum Records—a label rooted in authenticity, emotion, and full creative control. No industry politics. No filtered expression. Just raw talent, real stories, and art with impact.

Under his leadership, Sylum has grown from a one-man vision to a forward-thinking label and collective—a launchpad for artists who don’t want to play the game, they want to rewrite the rules. Soham’s work spans genres, languages, and cultures, but one thing stays constant: the music must be honest. If it doesn’t move you, it’s not Sylum.

He’s not just building a label—he’s laying the foundation for the future of music itself. From blockchain-based distribution to community-powered discovery, Soham’s vision stretches far beyond streaming numbers or temporary hype. His focus is long-term: sustainability, transparency, and artistic freedom at scale.

Sylum Records is the proof that one person with a vision, a mic, and the will to go all in can change the game. And this is just the beginning.
